But I think it’s more important that french people, who don’t speak very good english, understand what I write.

So from now on I’m going to write everything in french, but I will keep the title understandable in English. So if You have any questions about something related to bass ask me per e-mail !

That’s everything I’m thinking about right now…

I’ll also add some well known basslines for different levels (Muse, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jamiroquai, Nirvana…)

I bought some d’Addario Flatwounds to try how they feel and sound…

First of all they feel amazingly great….they are totally flat and you fly over the neck ! For this you have to try Flatwounds !

The sound is not as great…for what I play. I play a lot of slapping and these strings lack highs… When I truned the highs on full with my bass’s preamp it sounded OK for fingerstyle funk but the are just not the right strings…

But if you play jazz or rock this strigns are just perfect for you : full lows and a mellow tone !

So I say you go try these strings to see how they really sound !

Here two examples with the flatwounds :

For many years I played the flute at school, as every pupil has to do in France. I was quite god (not joking) because I had played it for about six years, but I more and more found this intrument ridiculous…

At this time (when I was about 14) I was mostly listening to R’n'B and Rap, but suddenly it changed…I switched to Rock and Funk !!!

Why Rock ? Because I wanted to be as cool as my friends who played the guitar and listened to Rock I think.

Why Funk ? Because my music teacher gave me the taste for this music…He was a bass player and one of the most important people to get me to bass guitar.

I chose the bass guitar because it was the instrument noone plays ( ) and because I loved the sound of it !

I first played with some friends (guitar and voice)…essentially Rock. The first song I played in front of an audience was Wonderwall (Oasis). But I always listened to the Red Hot Chili Peppers and tried to play these hard basslines.

A few months later I stopped playing with my friends and worked alone at home to improve my technique. That’s when I had classes. I only took them six months but they helped me a lot to get some basics and to get rid of all the wrong things I did.

I then played in a Metal band : The Anarchists Rabbits. The band members were friends but I didn’t stay there very long…it didn’t match on the musical side.

Then came another period where I worked alone…I didn’t find any band.

I got to Highschool in September 2006, and in 2007 I already played in another metal Band : After Seasons. There I met a drummer who has the exact same tastes as me…so we created another band mainly influenced by the Red Hot Chili Peppers : Triphasés.

Now I play in these two bands but I am looking forward to leave After Seasons when they have found another bass player because I want to concentrate on Triphasés.
